GNLU-Khaitan & Co. Advanced Certificate Programme on Capital Markets and Securities Law, 2024-2025
The third edition of the Advanced Certificate Programme on Capital Markets & Securities Laws is being jointly offered by GNLU in partnership with Khaitan & Co. The course has been curated by Mr. Aditya Cheriyan and Mr. Oishik Bagchi, Partners, Khaitan & Co. This edition of the Course will be held from December 2024 to January 2025, comprising two phases: online and offline, with a total teaching duration of over 50 hours (20+ hours of offline training at the GNLU campus in Gandhinagar). The Course aims to develop a strong foundational understanding of capital markets and securities laws. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the practical aspects of capital markets practice in a law firm.
GNLU-Khaitan & Co. Advanced Certificate Programme on Capital Markets and Securities Law, 2023-2024
The last edition of the course was held in partnership with Khaitan Co, from December 2023 to January 2024. Participants were provided with more than 60 hours of intense training in capital markets regulations and securities law by various Partners from Khaitan & Co, regulatory experts from IFSCA and Ex-SEBI, academicians from leading universities, Investment Bankers, and Financial Auditors. The offline leg of the course was conducted at the GNLU campus, Gandhinagar from 26th January to 30th January, 2024. It comprised over 25 hours of teaching. More than 70 students from 23 universities participated, selected from 140+ applications. Further, practical exposure was given to the participants through field visits at GIFT IFSCA and India International Exchange.
From the course, ten top-performing participants have been offered internships with Khaitan &Co. Further, GNLU and Khaitan & Co jointly offered scholarships to 9 meritorious and deserving participants.
Advanced Certificate Programme on Capital Markets and Securities Laws (December 3, 2022 to February 2, 2023)
GCBPP launched the first edition of “Advanced Certificate Programme in Capital Markets and Securities Laws” on 3rd December 2022. The course consisted of quintessential components of the transactional side of securities law and mechanics of capital markets which are absent from the law school curriculum. The programme comprised a distinguished and renowned panel of experts ranging from partners at top-tier corporate law firms across India to senior officials at regulators like IFSCA and SEBI. The curriculum was a blend of theoretical and applied knowledge, covering both, regulatory framework, and technical aspects of the capital markets. The course lasted for 70 hours and was conducted in a distinctive hybrid fashion, making it truly one-of-a-kind.
The course was graced by Mr. Soundararajan Venkatadas (COO & Chief Regulatory Officer of MCX Clearing Corporation Limited), Shekhar Asnani (Vice-President, ICICI securities), Mr. Oishik Bagchi (Partner at Khaitan & Co), Ms. Devki Mankad (Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas), Prof. Dr. Mayank Joshipura (NMIMS Mumbai), Mr. Dipesh Shah (Executive Director, IFSCA), among others.
