GNLU Distinguished Public Lecture & Workshop on Company Law (August 11, 2025)
The 1st GNLU Distinguished Public Lecture and Workshop on Company Law, was successfully conducted on August 11, 2025, at the Gujarat National Law University campus in Gandhinagar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 students and faculty members representing top law schools across India. It featured Mr. Siddharth Raja, Senior Partner at Vertices Partners, as the keynote speaker, who delivered two engaging and intellectually stimulating sessions.
The first session focused on foundational principles of modern Indian company law, offering a comparative perspective with English law and exploring the distinctions between shares and securities, as well as the interrelation between company law and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The second session delved into the legal responsibilities of directors, the evolving role of boards and shareholders, and the concept of shadow and de facto directorships, with a detailed examination of Section 179 of the Companies Act, 2013. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, successfully fostering a platform for meaningful dialogue on critical corporate law issues.




GNLU - Khaitan & Co Workshop on Foreign Exchange Management Act (September 21, 2024)
The GNLU Centre for Business and Public Policy successfully hosted the GNLU - Khaitan & Co. Workshop on the Foreign Exchange Management Act on September 21, 2024 (Saturday). This comprehensive workshop, curated by renowned experts Moin Ladha, Partner; Niyanta Munal, Principal Associate; and Charu Singh, Senior Associate from Khaitan & Co, brought together over 100 law students from various law universities in Ahmedabad to gain in-depth knowledge of FEMA provisions, regulatory frameworks, and practical applications. The sessions covered key topics, including foreign investment regulations, overseas investment, GIFT City, and India entry strategies, equipping participants to navigate complex foreign exchange management issues. Mr. Moin Ladha’s insightful discussion on Press Note 3 and other critical aspects of FEMA added valuable perspectives, enhancing participants' knowledge in the domain of finance and corporate law. The workshop's immersive learning experience provided a unique platform for participants to engage with experts, clarify doubts, and network with peers.
